• The only discussion item was an update on Simpson Housing Services’ proposal for their new building with 72 emergency shelter beds, 42 dwelling units, and an on-site clinic. The commission was supportive, but some members expressed concerns that there was a lack of bike parking access for residents.
• Wednesday, a Hennepin County judge ordered Minneapolis to halt implementing the city’s long-range development plan (referred to as Minneapolis 2040) until after environmental concerns have been addressed. Because of this, items 4 & 5 (“legal findings discussion” and “rezoning applications due to misalignment…”) on the agenda were postponed. There was light discussion on the order, but no new information shared.
