No automatic recounts were triggered. However, after certifying the election, there is a 5 day window (ends 4pm on October 6th) in which a paid recount can be requested. (Which is interesting- I had no idea you could pay for a recount!)

After that window closes, Early-in person begins October 7th. Unfortunately, several charter communities have laws stating that early in-person begin Oct 5th. the Board discussed this issue- stating literature and notifications to the candidates have been sent out.

Board says if folks show up on the 5th and 6th they may be asked to vote provisional. https://t.co/WmA1VPz3G6

Board certifies results. Continues with acknowledgements of deaths, resignations, and withdrawals of local candidates.

Alicia Moreland @DDutchCreative 13/17

Board talks about push for voter resignation- 11 local news stories about voter registration. Facebook presence, National Voter registration day considered a success. 2,400 voters registered- 400 over goal of 2,000

Push for poll workers also discussed. If you’re interested in being a poll worker on November 2nd:

The Board discusses the problem with how long it takes for poll workers to get paid: 3-5 weeks is too long says Inajo Davis Chappell.

Alicia Moreland @DDutchCreative 16/17

The meeting wrapped up at 51 minutes- about 10:20- after the Board asked for public comment. (there was none.) That wraps up my coverage, folks. Thanks for listening and apologies for the delay.
