Regular Citizens' Police Complaint Board meeting reviewing the case of Matea Glover.
Hi everyone, I’ll be live reporting the Citizens’ Police Complaint Board Meeting at 6:00 pm for #IndyDocumenters. Media Partners: @indydocumenters @mirrorindy
04:58 PM Jun 9, 2025 CDT
Learn more about the board here: https://www.indy.gov/activity/citizens-police-complaint-board
The case is an excessive force against a young lady who got into a dispute with a hotel clerk. The young lady mentioned her room having feces and the clerk told her to leave with a refund. The officer was accused of using excessive form with detaining the woman when he pulled out some of her braids.
The board is currently deliberating and the citizens has left the room. There may be a new charge initiated by the board in relation to the rude and demeaning handling of the citizen by the officer.
The vote passes to not endorse the order to exonerate. A charge of conduct unbecoming is under discussion.
A motion is on the table for the president to have a meeting with the police chief about this case. 5 votes in favor of the motion were received which is enough for a 2/3 vote.
Announcements are being read. The only one was about a member of team (Ayana.. didn’t catch the last name) is leaving the department and her position will be posted soon.
This concludes the Citizens’ Police Complaint Board meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for July 14, 2025. For more meeting coverage, check out https://documenters.org.
