Here’s the link for the meeting, which has garnered 92 views this far.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 3/61

Thus* typo in prior tweet. Here is the agenda for the first committee meeting. https://t.co/09vhxRUjSm

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 4/61

Biasiotta is not present at roll call. The rest of the committee members are present. A presentation is going to be held to discuss getting new uniforms for RTA Operators and Supervisors.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 5/61

Currently, Operators/Supervisors receive a yearly uniform allowance of $450. Customer service Reps receiver $250 yearly. This is an allowance for about 1,100 employees.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 6/61

Side note: This presentation is currently being given by Scott Ferraro and Maggie Swetel.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 7/61

A successful proposer will be responsible for uniform sales, maintain a local store location, monitor employee allowance accounts, and maintain auditable records.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 8/61

So far 24 parties have shown interest, with one firm offering a proposal.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 9/61

Swetel says their recommendation is to contract Workwear Outfitters, who are contracted in Nashville, to partner with Schwartz Uniforms in Cleveland.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 10/61

Here is the recommendation. https://t.co/NRHpUuybpb

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 11/61

That concludes the presentation. The floor is open for questions.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 12/61

Moss questions why 24 parties showed interest but only 1 offered a proposal. She also wants to know what $450 would buy an employee.

Some of the feedback they have gotten was that the timeline was too short for them to act accordingly.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 13/61

The presenting committee will provide a breakdown of the costs of employee attire. Moss wants to ensure the employees are getting their monies worth.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 14/61

Weiss asks if there are any local vendors to contract with. Ferraro explains that there isn’t the biggest market here in Ohio for sufficient uniforms.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 15/61

Motion for this to go to the full board has been approved.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 16/61

Dan Dietrich and Glenville Manning are now giving a presentation on the execution of a negotiated competitive contract option for the purchase of up to 20 40ft. CNG coaches.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 17/61

The FTA recommends replacement of transit buses at 12 years. These are the same busses that have already been purchased, and they wish to purchase them again.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 18/61

Perks of these buses include a passenger information screen, contoured plastic seats, tip-in veneered windows, 360 cameras, and a drivecam windshield camera.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 19/61

Gillig, LLC has the capacity to meet the RTA’s needs for new coaches. This is the staff request. https://t.co/QYgswVVMSQ

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 20/61

That concludes the presentation. The floor is open for questions.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 21/61

The current speaker who I believe is Lucas, asks if RTA can start advertising job opportunities on the flashing screen outside of the bus that shows the route name of the buses. This can actually be done by a cellular device.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 22/61

Correction: Earlier when I mentioned it was Weiss speaking about local vendors it was Welch. 😄

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 23/61

Motion to send this to the full board passes.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 24/61

Next is an update on the microtransit program by Maribeth Feke, Mayor Edward Kraus (Solon), and Lexi Petrella.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 25/61

Kraus says it can be difficult to attract employees to Solon because it can often times be difficult for potential employees to get there. They have started a Solon mobility task force as a result.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 26/61

Some of the things they have been able to accomplish through this task force include implementing four new bus shelters. They are also looking to add more benches along the routes and more frequent trash receptors along routes.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 27/61

This program aims to connect work sites to RTA service. Must pick-up and drop-off at RTA facility. The work site must be within Cuyahoga County. They will pick you up and bring you back to and from work.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 28/61

Marketing efforts include:

Emailed info
Lunch and learn opportunities
Door-to-door flyer drop offs
Virtual presentation
Rider training and engagement
Surveys

I wonder if they have coordinated with @CLEforTransit for outreach?

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 29/61

This benefits RTA by portentously increasing ridership and providing better access to jobs across NEO. That concludes the presentation, the floor is open for questions.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 30/61

Typo in prior tweet: Not sure where portentously came from. Sorry folks!

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 31/61

Welch praises the work being done here. She asks about the shuttle times. Microtransit does have a 24 hour service, but individuals must schedule their ride 18 hours in advance.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 32/61

To request a ride, you can download the app or go to the website for booking.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 33/61

The launch date was intended to be 11/9, but they don’t currently have any companies signed up. Now looking for a launch in mid November.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 34/61

This program will start in Solon, and if it is successful, will look to branch out to Bedford.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 35/61

This was an informational presentation, so no action is required.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 36/61

Nick Davidson is here to give an update on Paratransit Operations and call centers.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 37/61

Data collected from a survey conducted by NOBLE (Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality). These were some of the concerns and numbers. https://t.co/FT15NQnDjl

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 39/61

RTA has since reduced application from 17 to 7 pages. Reapplication has been reduced from 7 pages to 3 pages.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 40/61

Davidson reports RTA is experiencing record ridership on Saturdays.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 41/61
NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 42/61

The floor is open for questions. There are none. This committee meeting is adjourned.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 43/61

Next meeting. Here is the agenda. https://t.co/nrhAwNPhDM

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 44/61

Discussing future repairs. https://t.co/9Vm7LW6tXI

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 46/61

New sheet wall will last 75-100 years.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 47/61

Staff request. https://t.co/WJpbyCCi2g

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 48/61

The floor is open for questions. Some questions about dimensions arise, but nothing major. Motion to move forward to full board passes. Meeting is adjourned.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 49/61

Next committee is up. https://t.co/hj6bkPp5vH

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 51/61

They are currently in phase 3. https://t.co/d1GPve1KGZ

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 52/61

Lucas is very excited to implement this program. Moss asks when we will see this program go into motion? The response is hopefully within a months time.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 53/61

By the end of the year, they hope to have the individuals selected.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 54/61

Each individual will receive a $100 monthly stipend. Lucas would like to see that number increase. With. I further questions or comments, this motion passes for this to go to the full board.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 55/61

*Typo in last tweet, should read “with no further..”

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 56/61

Code book discussion. https://t.co/jLdC4ML0Mo

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 58/61

Staff request. https://t.co/Uz2BvqfduJ

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 59/61

No questions, motion passes.

NJHDocumenter91 @NJHDocumenter91 60/61
