The Commission on Police Practices (CPP) is an independent community oversight body of the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The CPP has investigatory, review, and auditing powers, including the power to make factual determinations about matters that are investigated and to make advisory recommendations regarding the actions of police officers and the procedures, policies, and practices of the Police Department.
The Commission on Police Practices (CPP) hosts their regular business meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. in person at Balboa Park’s Santa Fe Room [2144 Pan American W. Road]. The CPP has designated one Saturday per month as an additional potential meeting date.
Agendas are made available 72 hours before the meeting’s date on the website link. If it isn’t, please contact us. The agenda will include information on physical location, zoom link, agenda items, and other information.

CPP regular business meetings will often include closed sessions that are not open to the public. Closed sessions involve discussions about confidential personnel issues (For example: case and discipline reviews).
The public is encouraged and welcome to attend either in person or virtually and share their views. However, the Commission does not discuss specific complaints in these open sessions.
