- Briefly held, and then continued, a public hearing regarding street lighting and assessments. The public hearing will continue at the committee’s July 11 meeting.
- Received a report and held a public hearing on stormwater management
- A representative of the East Isles Neighborhood Association said his group has increased the percentage of storm drains “adopted” by East Isles residents by 50% (from 16% to 33%)
- A representative for Our Streets advocated for municipal sidewalk snow removal.
- Received a presentation on the “New Nicollet project,” which involves reconnecting Nicollet Avenue from Lake Street to Cecil Newman Lane (where the K-Mart previously was), as well as reconstructing Cecil Newman Lane from Nicollet Avenue to 1st Avenue South.
- Staff said the most popular design (“Concept 1”) includes: wide green spaces, wide sidewalks, travel for all kinds of vehicles, a new trail connection to the Greenway and a mid-block crossing to connect to public spaces.
