City Council passes some legislation – particularly legislation that authorizes the city to enter contracts for various purposes – that leaves vendor selection and compensation to be set by the Board of Control. The Board of Control oversees the selection of vendors and their compensation for city work, and the sale of land parcels.

Here’s today’s agenda. https://t.co/LjETSvkWNK

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 4/14

And we’re off! The first item is a resolution @MayorBibb wants, to change the name of the Office of Quality Control and Performance Management to the Office of Urban Analytics and Innovation. https://t.co/CSAUkunh0E

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 5/14

“These are the same analytics as the Cleveland Browns are using, speaking of.”

Lawd have mercy… 🙄

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 6/14

“Are there any more questions regarding the resolution…or the fate of the Browns?”

Plenty of laughs, but no questions.
The resolution is approved for adoption.

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 7/14

The Finance Dept. is up next. This resolution is to change the scope of music lessons, removing the trumpet and adding voice due to the popularity of vocal lessons during summer courses & the lack of interest in the trumpet.

Louie Armstrong right now… https://t.co/ZKiqjet819

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 8/14

Are these documents specifically from the Board of Control, I wonder? These are really easy to read & understand, thank you to whoever designed these docs. https://t.co/x3yu7Tj7Ec

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 9/14

The acronym “CSB” has come up several times now in discussions on a public improvement contract:
“’Cleveland Area Small Business’ or ‘CSB’ means a Business Enterprise certified under division (a) of Section 187.03.”

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 10/14

The contract in question has a goal of “30% CSB”. That means 30% of the subcontracting for this project needs to go to small businesses & workers based in Cleveland. https://t.co/HkkiWfIGYs

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 11/14

This resolution seeks to continue HR services with Ease@Work for city employees.

Anyone in my Twitterverse ever used Ease@Work before? I’ve had them at almost every job I’ve worked the last decade & never once made a call, nor do I know any other co-workers who have. ?? https://t.co/KWqgNGIvqP

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 12/14

These resolutions have all been approved, the Cleveland Browns still suck, and Louie Armstrong is rolling over in his grave.

Another productive day in the city of Cleveland.

Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 13/14

The meeting is now adjourned. This concludes my coverage of today’s Cleveland Board of Control meeting for @cledocumenters. Visit the #CLEdocumenters website for ongoing coverage of local government meetings and happenings. https://cleveland.documenters.org/reporting/

You yung’uns needin’ to learn the value of the trumpet, here’s Duke Ellington. The whole song is good, each instrument is showcased very well, especially that horn. Have a listen…
